JACKALOPE - JLS - Take Down Recurve Bow - 20-50 lbs - 60-66 inch
With the Jackalope Limb System, JLS for short, Jackalope Archery has developed the seminal system for take-down bows. All limbs in our JLS series can be easily combined with Jackalope's JLS-compatible grips. The draw weight changes only insignificantly. Of course, the typical Jackalope Archery 30-year guarantee applies - regardless of the combination.
The JACKALOPE JLS limbs are made of black fibreglass laminate with a core of high-quality bamboo wood, the fade-out is made of dark, stabilized wood. The insides of the Jackalope JLS limbs are covered with Jackalope BLACK POWER glass, which is also used in the tournament bows of the Bloodstone and Onyx series. They are finished in elegant matt black and naturally offer everything you would expect from outstanding limbs from JACKALOPE: Good stability, excellent performance and a wide range of draw weights.
Competition - carbon for even more speed
In the Competition versions, the JACKALOPE JLS limbs are even faster! Additional layers of carbon further improve the already good-natured characteristics of the limbs. They make the bow more forgiving and ensure a tighter and more accurate hit pattern when shooting. But how do they achieve this? The outer sides are characterized by carbon in a unique way. The carbon layers are 1.2 mm thick and consist of different layers. This sandwich construction was specially developed for JACKALOPE and the interaction of the individual layers provides the optimum characteristics in terms of soft Draw length, outstanding speed and excellent torsional rigidity. The usual last layer of fiberglass, which closes off the limbs to the outside and would again limit the characteristics of the carbon, is omitted here. Instead, a cross-linked visible carbon is used as the outermost layer.

JACKALOPE Crystal - JLS - Take Down recurve bow - 20-50 lbs
The crystal that gives the new JACKALOPE Crystal its name is as varied in shape and color as the centerpiece itself. Each of the three colors gives the centerpiece a different effect. Be it the exciting purple, the "poisonous" green or the calming blue, each variant is sure to please. Each centerpiece is unique and underlines the personal individuality of each shooter. To create a crystal, special conditions are required in nature and, above all, a crystal needs time. This makes them special stones with special characteristics: they clear the mind, strengthen one's own consciousness and provide support in difficult life situations. All this makes the crystal the perfect namesake for this versatile handle.
Of course, it's not just the look that's impressive: the stabilized wood - a highly stable combination of several layers of wood and epoxy resin - reliably absorbs vibrations and allows faster, smoother shooting. In combination with the matching JACKALOPE JLS limbs in elegant matt black or natural bamboo look, the result is a fascinating, high-performance recurve bow that will always be a loyal companion for every shooter.
JACKALOPE Flint - JLS - Take Down recurve bow - 20-50 lbs
The JACKALOPE Flint riser is perhaps the most mysterious looking stabilized wood riser yet seen. While the innovative, stabilized wood - a highly stable combination of several layers of wood and epoxy resin - gives the grip its characteristic look with clearly visible layers and stripes, the Dark Brown coloring gives it the look of a classic, banded flint stone. In Deep Black, the flint becomes something mystical and hides its grain almost completely under a matt black look. Each centerpiece is unique and underlines the personal individuality of each shooter.
The flint stone is not only one of the most important healing stones, it was also used in the Stone Age to make tools and weapons, and in the Middle Ages it was used to produce a spark for flintlock rifles. This also led to the colloquial term "flint". This "fire" rests in the stone and is said to strengthen self-confidence and give new vigor. It grounds its wearer and creates an atmosphere of calm and serenity. This makes the flint a more than fitting namesake for this handle.
Of course, it is not just the look that is impressive: the stabilized wood used reliably absorbs vibrations and allows faster, smoother shooting. In combination with the matching JACKALOPE JLS limbs in elegant matt black with or without a carbon look, the result is a fascinating, high-performance recurve bow that will always be a loyal companion for every shooter.
JACKALOPE Pure Elements - JLS - Take Down recurve bow - 20-50 lbs
Awaken your inner strength and let the elements become your ally - with the JACKALOPE Pure Elements! The fire element, with its striking red, stands for passion and determination, while the blue of the water element embodies calm and balance. The brown, dark earth element stands for stability and steadfastness, while the wind element with its green symbolizes agility and flexibility.
Of course, it is not just the look that is impressive: the stabilized wood used - a highly stable combination of several layers of wood and epoxy resin - reliably absorbs vibrations and allows faster, more even shooting. Three additional Micarta strips in white and black run through the middle section, which increase the weight and ensure optimum reinforcement of the middle section. A combination that increases comfort when shooting and guarantees a convincing, tactile experience.

Of course, it is not only the look that is impressive: the wood used reliably reduces vibrations and allows faster, more consistent shooting. With the JACKALOPE Limb System, JLS for short, the centerpiece features the future-oriented JACKALOPE limb system for take-down bows.limb system for take-down bows, with which all limbs in the JLS series can be easily combined with all JLS-compatible grips from Jackalope. Right-handed or left-handed?
Determination of the draw hand
The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.
Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.
The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.
There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:
- The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
- A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
- The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
- The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.
If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
