Arrows - with natural feathers

Natural feathers are the most original way of feathering an arrow. They are a pure natural material and are still very popular today. Especially traditional shooters prefer natural feathers, but also compound shooters in the indoor area use this type of feathering.

Please choose your desired arrow below. Depending on the draw weight of the bow, we will then select the appropriate spine.

Service: Set Nocking Point

The nocking point is a small brass ring, which we mounted to the string ourselves. It marks the correct position of the arrow on the string and quickly helps to find the most optimal point . The arrow is usually docked under the nocking point.

Bow Stringer

By using a bow stringer, the bowstring can be pulled on with less effort. This method of stretching is more gentle for the bow or the limbs, because through wrong manual clamping can cause them to warp permanently.

Description

BEAR ARCHERY Kodiak - 60 Inch - 35-60 lbs - One Piece Recurve Bow

If you ask around about the legendary Bear bows, you are sure to hear stories about the legendary Kodiak from 1959. For years, BEAR ARCHERY has been asked time and again to bring it back. Out of respect for the loyal followers and Mr. Bear himself, the BEAR ARCHERY Kodiak 2022 is now available as a new version. It features some improvements and has a beautiful riser made of shedua, a tree species whose heartwood is pink, bright red or reddish brown with purple stripes. It also has a purple heart inlay and stunning green glass limbs. The limbs have a core of pure maple wood, which is coated with black fibreglass. The handmade tips made of black and white fibreglass withstand high draw weights and are Fast-Flight suitable.

The Kodiak has a length of 60 inches and is available in 35-60 lbs draw weight. This makes it the perfect bow for any type of hunting or recreational sport. The timeless design and craftsmanship will forever make the Kodiak one of the most sought after recurve bows from BEAR ARCHERY.

Available as a right or left handed model.

Right-handed or left-handed?

Determination of the draw hand

The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.

Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.

The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.

There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:

  • The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
  • A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
  • The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
  • The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.

If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.

More information on choosing the right type of bow, the right draw weight and the right arrows can be found here: A brief introduction to archery
