At home in nature! - The JACKALOPE Bloodstobe Hunter - Hunting recurve
Those who call nature their second home and count the archery course among their favorite places will be delighted with the JACKALOPE hunting recurve bows from the Hunter series, the perfect companions for adventures in the forest and heath. With a length of 60 inches, the bows are compact and powerful enough to be agile and fast in the dense forest.
The Bloodstone is a very special member of the JACKALOPE family: it is the ultimate competition bow! A clear position was taken when developing this bow - no compromises were made in terms of competition performance. The focus is solely on building a bow with inimitable precision, absolute shooting smoothness and first-class throwing performance.
Extremely heavy stable wood gives the bow an unparalleled shooting smoothness. This innovative material made of wood soaked in synthetic resin is particularly resistant and torsion-resistant. With this bow, you can safely delete "hand shock" from your vocabulary.
No compromises have been made with the limbs either: visible carbon ensures maximum performance and the highest arrow speeds. The core of the limbs is made of high-quality bamboo wood covered with carbon laminate. Depending on the arrow weight, speeds of 230fps and more are a matter of course.
And the bow is also a clear visual champ. Particularly striking is the extraordinary play of colors of the riser, which with its basic color black and deep red accents is clearly reminiscent of its namesake, the Bloodstone - a symbol of the perfect blend of traditional archery and state-of-the-art materials and technologies. Another detail that is perhaps not so striking in its perfection is the hand-cut transition from the riser to the limbs. The riser merges seamlessly into the limbs, completely free of any steps, making you forget that this is a three-piece bow. Noble design is also or especially evident in inconspicuous details.
The namesake of this bow stands for vitality, passion and strength. It invigorates body and mind. It also makes it easier to overcome difficult challenges. Bloodstone is considered a special form of jasper, the mother of all gemstones. Even 5000 years ago in ancient Mesopotamia, warriors wore the stone as a talisman to ensure victory.
There is hardly a better namesake for this competition bow. We have focused on performance and accuracy, the Bloodstone helps you to focus on your competition. Like having your own coach at your side, ready to bring out the best in you.

Right-handed or left-handed?
Determination of the draw hand
The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.
Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.
The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.
There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:
- The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
- A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
- The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
- The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.
If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
