The elTORO Brass Bone hunting knife has a 10cm long blade made of decorative Damascus steel and an attractive handle made of a combination of several materials. The front part of the handle, the guard (bolster), is made of brass. The actual handle consists of beautifully grained olive wood.
Material and construction
The knife is made from a core of high-quality steel, with a full tang construction. The steel always remains visible and runs through the entire handle as a narrow, polished strip. The handle scales are attached to both sides of the flat tang and riveted together. The advantage of this design is as simple as it is effective: Due to the full tang construction, the knife is more stable and can transfer more force to the blade during use. This design also makes the knife heavier and provides better balance, as the higher proportion of steel in the handle shifts the center of gravity of the knife to the center.
The blade of the knife is made of multi-layered Damascus steel in addition to the steel core, which gives the entire knife its special and unique appearance thanks to its decorative pattern. The structure of this ancient material, known for more than 2000 years, is created by processing several layers of iron and steel, which are welded (folded) and become visible by etching or polishing the steel.
Each knife from elTORO comes with a fine sheath made of strong, sturdy leather, designed with double stitching and fine decorations. There is a loop on the back, attached with two ornate rivets, so you can wear the knife sheath on your belt.
