FALKENHOLZ Competition - Take Down Recurve Bow
Falkenholz bows have always been the epitome of highly aesthetic and powerful bows. This will also be the case in the future.
Those who know Christian Vorderegger know that for Christian one thing counts above all: maximum performance and precision. He makes no compromises in this regard, so one thing was immediately clear: in addition to the Essence and custom bow making, there must be a model that, like himself, stands for absolute high performance, a predestined tournament bow - a real workhorse, without compromise.
Tournament bow without compromise
What makes a tournament bow in Christian's eyes? It needs a convincing geometry and powerful limbs. It needs the highest stability and shooting smoothness. And the Falkenholz COMPETITION offers all this. Christian Vorderegger uses the most popular Falkenholz riser, the Peregrine with thumb rest and checkering, in combination with high-performance limbs.
To keep this tournament bow affordable, Christian and his team have concentrated only on the shooting characteristics and performance features. Decorative lines or limbs overlays were deliberately left out, as they offer no added value in terms of performance apart from aesthetic aspects. Falkenholz has thus succeeded in designing a bow that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of shooting performance and workmanship and thus offers first-class value for money.
This tournament bow is the ultimate bow for the tournament purist who expects maximum performance, concentrates fully on the technical characteristics of the bow and, just like the World and European Champion Christian, does not want to make any compromises.
Function before looks - Highest precision does not exclude aesthetics
The fact that optics must be subordinated to performance does not mean that aesthetics must be sacrificed. High performance is also compatible with an attractive appearance. The COMPETITION impresses with its discreet, unobtrusive design: the riser, which is made of one piece, is made of the original Falkenholz stabilised HD wood. This beautifully brown-black veined wood is visually impressive with its fine grain. But the material was also chosen first and foremost for its shooting performance. The Falkenholz HD wood is a homogeneous composite material consisting of several layers of wood. These layers are completely impregnated with epoxy resin and result in a riser that is particularly stiff and heavy compared to risers made of Technowood, pure wood or other wood variants. No additional materials or inlays are necessary to create a heavy, vibration-free structure that impresses with its precision. However, you don't have to give up the natural and pleasant feel of wood for this.
Core features of a genuine FALKENHOLZ bow
There are two important factors in the riser that naturally could not be dispensed with: the thumb rest and the checkering. The thumb rest of the Peregrine riser guides the thumb optimally and thus guarantees a consistent grip of the bow hand. The checkering of the palm rest optimises the grip. Your Falkenholz COMPETITION always lies perfectly in your hand for maximum precision.
Limb of the latest generation
The riser is completed by high-performance limbs of the G4 series. The powerful G4 limbs with bamboo core are finished with special high-strength black glass on the inside and 3K exposed carbon on the front. This construction not only guarantees maximum torsional stiffness, but also ensures particularly forgiving shot performance and enables very high speeds. And at the same time they pull wonderfully smoothly, even at higher draw lengths. This makes them our best and most modern limbs to date.
World champion finish
Every Falkenholz bow is personally tested, signed and prepared ready to shoot by Christian Vorderegger. This includes a high performance string and an arrow rest made of pearl ray leather.
