When building his personal arrow, the shooter has to decide at some point between a glue tip and a screw tip. Once the decision has been made, the screw tip, unlike the glue tip which is glued directly into the shaft, requires a thread in the shaft. This is where the insert comes into play, because it has an internal thread. The size of the insert is determined by the inner diameter of the shaft. Once the right one has been found, it is first glued into the shaft. Then the screw tip can be screwed into the insert. The internal thread of the insert is standardised and the same in every insert. Therefore, every screw tip fits into every insert. Whether the screw tip protrudes laterally beyond the shaft or is smaller than the outer diameter of the shaft depends on the diameter of the tip and has nothing to do with the insert.
GOLD TIP inserts come in different varieties. Both the material can be different - aluminium or brass - as well as the size and usability. The inserts with the inner diameter of 0.246 inch are suitable for different shafts, the other variants and sizes, on the other hand, are only suitable for special arrow series.
