When an arrow hits the target, the carbon shaft may crack or splinter at the front. This happens because the full force of the impact is transmitted through the tip to the shaft and the tip is driven into the shaft. However, the same effect can also occur at the rear end of the arrow at the nock.
To prevent this effect, the shaft can be fitted with a Ballistic Collar. The Ballistic Collar is a ballistic protective sleeve that is slid and glued over the shaft at the front and back. The Ballistic Collar encases the shaft over a length of approx. 1 cm or forms a collar around the last centimetre of the shaft. The ring thus prevents the carbon from cracking or splitting at its most sensitive points.
