The rental program - Would you like to try your hand at archery without investing a fortune?
Then our rental program is just right for you! For a small rental fee, you can try out archery for 6 months. If you don't like archery or want to try a different bow model, you can simply return the bow.
But if you want to continue, you don't have to do anything else, because your rental contract is automatically extended for a further 6 months. After a total rental period of 18 months, the rental bow automatically becomes your property.
So that you can start having fun with your bow straight away, all our rental bows are of course sent ready to shoot, i.e. including string, peep sight, string loop and arrow rest. All materials are as good as new or used. They are in perfect technical condition but may show signs of use.
We also offer additional accessories for hire to match our rental bows. The optionally available arrows are purchased items and are not part of the rental offer.

DRAKE Gecko RTS - 30-55 lbs - Compound bow
The perfect compound bow for young people and adults: the new DRAKE Gecko! Its compact and - especially in the green version - eye-catching design makes it a real eye-catcher.
But it's not just visually appealing, because its technical specifications are also impressive. With a length of just 29 inches (approx. 74 cm) and a weight of approx. 1.3 kg, it is very handy and can be individually adapted to the shooter's needs thanks to the adjustable draw weight. It is not necessary to use a bow press, as the adjustments are simply made using screws. In addition, the Gecko has a 5/16 inch x 24 UNF threaded bush for stabilizers and an arrow rest for attaching accessories.
The let-off of the bow varies depending on the set draw length. At full draw length, the Gecko offers the highest possible let-off (~ 70%), which drops slightly as the draw length becomes shorter. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not provide more detailed information on this and does not present it in a table.
The Gecko RTS comes with a wide range of accessories. The scope of delivery already includes a sight with 3 fiberglass pins, a Whisker Biscuit arrow rest, a String Stopper, a Peep Sight, a D-Loop and a pincer release.

Right-handed or left-handed?
Determination of the draw hand
The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.
Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.
The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.
There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:
- The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
- A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
- The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
- The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.
If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
