Crystal or Flint? - A brief introduction to the bows

  • JACKALOPE Crystal - 60-66 Zoll - JLS - Recurvebogen - 20-45 lbs

The riser itself is as varied in shape and colour as the crystal that gives the new JACKALOPE Crystal its name. Each of the five colours gives the riser a different effect. Be it the exciting Bordeaux, the "poisonous" green, the calming blue, the elegant grey or the classic brown, every variation knows how to please. Each riser is unique and underlines the personal individuality of each shooter.

To create a crystal, special conditions in nature are required and above all a crystal needs time. This makes them special stones with special characteristics: they clear the mind, strengthen the own consciousness and support in difficult life situations. All this makes the crystal the perfect name for this versatile handle.

Of course, it is not only the look that is impressive: the Teknowood used - a highly stable compound of several layers of wood and epoxy resin - reliably absorbs vibrations and allows faster, more even shooting. In combination with the matching JACKALOPE JLS throwing arms in elegant matt black or natural bamboo look, a fascinating, high-performance recurve bow is created that will always be a faithful companion for every shooter.

  • JACKALOPE Flint - 60-66 Zoll - JLS - Recurve bow - 20-45 lbs

The JACKALOPE Flint riser is perhaps the most natural looking Teknowood riser you have ever seen. The innovative Teknowood - a highly stable combination of several layers of wood and epoxy resin - gives the grip its characteristic look with clearly visible layers and stripes. The colouring in Warm Brown, Shiny Silver or Deep Black gives it the look of a classic banded flint. Each bow is unique and underlines the personal individuality of each shooter.

The Flint Stone is not only one of the most important healing stones, no, it was already used in the Stone Age for the production of tools and weapons, in the Middle Ages it was used to produce a spark for flintlock rifles. This also led to the colloquial name "flint stone". This "fire" rests in the stone and is said to strengthen self-confidence and give new élan. It grounds its wearer and creates an atmosphere of peace and serenity. This makes the Flint a more than fitting name for this riser.

Of course, it is not only the look that is impressive: the Teknowood used absorbs vibrations reliably and allows faster, more even shooting. In combination with the matching JACKALOPE JLS throwing arms in elegant matt black or natural bamboo look, a fascinating, high-performance recurve bow is created that will always be a faithful companion for every shooter.

  • JACKALOPE Pure - 62-64 Inch - JLS - Recurve Bow - 20-45 lbs

The JACKALOPE Pure riser is a classic riser made of natural wood. Depending on personal preference, you can choose between the dark, elegant wood of smoked oak and the warm, light Amazoque. Both woods lend the riser its very own - visual - character. In addition, three micarta strips run through both wood variants, which increase the weight and ensure optimum stiffening of the riser. A combination that increases comfort when shooting and guarantees a convincing, haptic experience.

It is not only the look that is convincing: the wood used reliably reduces vibrations and allows for faster, smoother shooting.

JLS - JACKALOPE Limb System

With the Jackalope Limb System, JLS for short, Jackalope Archery has developed the promising system for take-down bows. All limbs in our JLS series can be combined with the JLS-compatible grips from Jackalope. The draw weight changes only slightly. Of course, the typical Jackalope Archery 30-year guarantee remains valid - no matter which combination is used.

The JLS recurve limbs of the model year 2022 are now 2 inches longer than the previous limbs. Instead of a bow length of 60-64 inches (depending on the riser used), the "2022" variants now have bow lengths of 62-66 inches. This results in two completely new options:
Firstly, the limbs in combination with a longer riser are perfect for archers with a longer draw. As the string angle is less acute due to the longer limbs, the draw is now even more comfortable even with a 31 inch draw length. The "sweet spot" of the limbs also tends towards longer extension lengths.
On the other hand, the longer limbs can also be combined with a short riser. With this, the bow loses some of its smoothness than with a longer riser, but gains significantly in liveliness.

SPEED - Carbon for even more speed

In the speed versions the JACKALOPE Flint is even faster! An additional layer of carbon further improves the already good-natured characteristics of the bow. It makes the bow more forgiving and ensures a tighter and more accurate hit when shooting. But how does it achieve this? Very simple: The carbon inlay not only makes the limbs lighter and more torsionally stiff, but also makes them about 10fps faster.

Right-handed or left-handed?

Determination of the draw hand

The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.

Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.

The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.

There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:

  • The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
  • A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
  • The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
  • The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.

If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.

Schöner Bogen

Ein sehr schöner Bogen liegt gut in der Hand. Schönes großen handliches griff Stück. Ein Mangel und das sind die Pfeile. Man kann die kombonenten nirgends angeben wie schutzring ja oder nein. Kommen ohne an.
