Description

JACKALOPE Pure - JLS - 62-64 Inch - Recurve Bow - 20-45 lbs

The JACKALOPE Pure riser is a classic riser made of natural wood that forms the basis for an attractive recurve bow. Depending on personal preference, the riser is made of the dark, elegant wood of smoked oak or the warm, light Amazoqueholz. Both woods give the riser a very unique - optical - character. In addition, three micarta strips run through both wood variants, which increase the weight and ensure optimum stiffening of the riser. A combination that increases comfort when shooting and guarantees a convincing, haptic experience.

Of course, it is not only the look that impresses: the wood used reliably reduces vibrations and allows for faster, smoother shooting. In combination with the matching JACKALOPE JLS limbs in elegant matt black or natural bamboo look, the result is a fascinating, high-performance recurve bow that will always be a loyal companion for every archer.

JLS - JACKALOPE Limb System

With the Jackalope Limb System, JLS for short, Jackalope Archery has developed the seminal system for take-down bows. All limbs of our JLS series can be combined with Jackalope's JLS-compatible grips without any problems. The draw weight changes only insignificantly. Of course, the 30-year warranty typical for Jackalope Archery remains in effect - regardless of the combination.

The new JLS recurve limbs from Jackalope Archery together with the risers of different lengths result in bow lengths of 62-66 inches. This results in various options: Firstly, the limbs in combination with a longer riser are perfect for archers with a longer draw. Since the angle of the string is less acute due to the limbs, the draw is now even more comfortable even with a draw length of 31 inches. The "sweet spot" of the limbs also tends towards longer draw lengths. On the other hand, the limbs can also be combined with a short riser. With this, the bow loses some of its smoothness than with a longer riser, but gains significantly in liveliness.

SPEED or COMPETITION limbs - carbon for even more speed.

In the Speed versions the JACKALOPE Pure is even faster! An additional layer of carbon improves the already good-natured characteristics of the bow even more. It makes the bow more forgiving and ensures a tighter and more accurate hit pattern when shooting. But how does it achieve this? Quite simply: the carbon inlay not only makes the limbs lighter and more torsionally stiff, it also makes them about 10fps faster.

But it is the JACKALOPE JLS Competition limbs that get the optimum performance and speed out of the JACKALOPE Pure. They are made of black fibreglass laminate with a core of high-quality bamboo wood, the fade-out is made of dark Teknowood. The inside of the limbs is covered with Jackalope BLACK POWER glass, a reinforced matt black glass, which is also used in the tournament bows of the Bloodstone and Onyx series.

The outside is embossed with carbon in a unique way. The entire carbon layer is 1.2 mm thick and consists of different layers. This sandwich construction was specially developed for JACKALOPE and, in the interaction of the individual layers, provides the optimum characteristics in terms of soft extension, outstanding speed and outstanding torsional stiffness. The usual last layer of fibreglass, which closes the limbs to the outside and would again limit the characteristics of the carbon, is omitted here. Instead, a cross-linked visible carbon is used as the outermost layer.

Right-handed or left-handed?

Determination of the draw hand

The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.

Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.

The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.

There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:

  • The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
  • A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
  • The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
  • The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.

If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.
