DRAKE English longbow - Osage - 74" - 26-80 lbs

As a typical English longbow with a pronounced D-shape, DRAKE´s comes with a newer traditional bow. Produced as a three-layer, Victorian longbow, it combines the bow manufacturing art of this time with high-quality materials of modern times. The side of the bow facing the shooter is made of high-quality Osage Orangewood, while the opposite side is made of Bitternut Hickory and the intermediate layer of bamboo wood. This sophisticated construction made of three different layers of wood makes it stronger and more durable.

Osage orange wood:
Maclura pomifera or commonly called Osage Orange has many other names, such as milk orange tree. This tree originates from North America and is found in Europe only in the Carpathian Basin. The milk orange tree grows as a deciduous tree with thorn-reinforced branches and forms fruits that change from a green to a yellow-green colour with increasing maturity and develop a faint odour reminiscent of oranges.
In bow manufacturing, Osage Orange is a very popular wood because its heartwood combines flexibility, hardness and torsional stiffness in an excellent way.

The bow has a length of 74" and is suitable as a classic longbow without bow window for right- and left-hand shooters. The grip area is covered with leather and is particularly handy. The tips of the bow are a special eye-catcher because they are made of dark horn and have a pointed shape. The bows´ individual characteristics depend on the natural materials and craftsmanship used for production. The resulting draw weights are therefore not given as exact values, but can only be specified and selected in smaller draw weight ranges.

DRAKE Englischer Langbogen - Osage - 74 Zoll - 45-50 lbs

Wollte immer einenYEW-Longbow (Eibe), doch nicht selbst herstellen. Mein erster Bogen (alles von BOGENSPORTWELT) ein Take-Down-Recurve 26lbs /28
Danach 32er Wurfarme ... beim 3D-Parcoure wurde mir dennochtrotz gutem Erfolg immer langweiliger.
Im Club hatte wer einen kleinen Eibe-Bogen, da informierte ich mich im Internet und erfuhr, ist nicht leicht (wenn, dann teuer als fertiger Bogen) zu bekommen.
Mr wurde gesagt das Verhalten vom DRAKE ist dem YEW-LONGBOW sehr ähnlich, aber durch die 3 Lagen viel stabiler.
Erstand zuvor Als Einstieg einen 40 lbs Battle-Merchant - sofort war klar - Longbow für mich ist the One and Only.
Da entschied ich mich für den DRAKE und wagte den bis zu 50 lbs bei 28. Zu Beginn mächtige Umstellung - viel schnellere Ansprache und zu Beginn sehr hart zu ziehen. Schnell (ca. 200 Schuss) war ich ihn gewöhnt
Lernte mittels Bogenbauerknoten die jeweilig vorgeschriebene Standhöhe von 19 einzustellen. Klappte nach wenigen Versuchen leicht - und meine Kollegen sind von dem DRAKE begeistert.
Freue mich täglich mehr und habe auch mittlerweile meinen Auszug auf 31 verlegt - herrlich, - Spaß pur!!!
Klare Weiterempfehlung des DRAKES und vielen Dank für die mehrfache Unterstützung an das BOGENWELT - TEAM!!!

Puristisch, schlicht, schön

Schön ist er, der ELB von DRAKE. Der Bogen wirkt sehr authentisch und die Maserung des Bitternussholzes begeistert. Es ist ein ruhiges Kennenlernen, während man das untere Sehnenöhrchen mit dem Zimmermannsknoten knotet, was leicht gelingt. Mit etwas Feintuning durch eindrehen der Sehne, hat man schnell die 7,5 Standhöhe eingestellt. Das 40-45lbs Modell zieht sich weich wie ein Jackalope Moonstone mit 30lbs auf 32 Auszug. Die 47g Mittelalterpfeile mit schwerer Nadelbodkin Spitze finden präzise ihr Ziel. Der Handschock ist dabei spürbar, aber nicht störend. Dabei schießt er sich noch präziser, als der ebenfalls 74 lange, modernere DRAKE Athling Hybridbogen, der ebenfalls sehr gut abschneidet. Authentisch, wunderschön und Leistungsstark ist er, der ELB Osage von DRAKE.

Ein richtiger Warbow #80

Der Bogen sind grandios aus. Er vereint die Vorteile von laminierten Bögen bei dem Feeling und der Power eines Selfbows. Mit 80# ist es ein echter Warbow für wahre Workouts.
