Description

BODNIK BOWS Mohawk Hunter - 56" or 58" - 20-60 lbs - Take Down Recurve bow - by Bearpaw

The Mohawk Take Down is a legendary bow! Around the globe, enthusiastic archers and bow hunters swear by BODNIK's Mohawks. But what justifies its myth?

For one thing, because it is a BODNIK BOWS, which with its unique 30-year BODNIK BOWS warranty* has lastingly convinced the community of archers and bow hunters. On the other hand, because it has a unique performance that combines high performance and a soft extension. Even at longer distances, the Mohawk catapults the arrows in a flat trajectory to the target!

The risers of the Mohawks are made of different special woods, so that there is enough weight to absorb all residual energy. This way BODNIK BOWS can guarantee that the Mohawk can be shot without any noticeable hand shock. The layer bonding in the middle part of the Mohawks scores in terms of both appearance and design! Of course, all bows from the Mohawk series can be shot with any commercially available high performance string. The BEARPAW Whisper String is especially suitable to realize the performance perfectly and to make the bow "whisper quiet" on the side!

BLS - Bearpaw Limb System
In order to create a system that would allow the archer to combine the best BEARPAW risers with the widest variety of BEARPAW limbs, the contact surfaces of the limbs on the centerpiece had to be designed in such a way that the angle of attack would guarantee uniform use. A further challenge was that the draw weight of the limb remains unchanged, even if the riser is changed. The length of the riser should therefore not influence the draw weight.

This was one of the most important steps towards the BLS: everything must be perfectly combinable. BEARPAW now offers more than 54 grip pieces within the BLS. Depending on individual preferences and requirements, they can be combined with various BEARPAW limbs: Recurve Long or Short in black or olive, as well as Hybrid (black or olive).

"Eye Candy! - Recurve bow in breathtaking optics
The short and handy Mohawk Hunter middle section is aptly named. The successful design impresses with its beautiful shapes and curves. The modified geometry serves the purpose of precision and forgiveness. Together with the powerful bamboo limbs, the Mohawk Hunter is a perfect combination of performance and aesthetics.

Right-handed or left-handed?

Determination of the draw hand

The draw hand is the hand that pulls the string. This means that a right-handed bow is held in the left hand and drawn with the right hand.

Determining your personal draw hand has far less to do with whether you are left-handed or right-handed than you might initially assume. It is much more about determining the dominant eye. The dominant eye is used for aiming. This then automatically results in the draw hand.

The term dominant eye refers to the eye whose visual information is superimposed on everything. If a shooter tried to aim with the other eye, he would have to close the dominant eye.

There are two ways of determining the dominant eye: On the one hand, it is the eye that is generally favoured, for example when looking through the viewfinder of a camera, through the peephole or similar situations. On the other hand, there is a small exercise that can be used to determine the dominant eye beyond doubt:

  • The arms are stretched out and a triangle is formed with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands.
  • A small target is aimed at through the triangle, for example a socket or a cupboard knob. Focus on this object.
  • The hands are now slowly brought towards the face without taking the target object out of focus.
  • The triangle of thumb and index fingers will involuntarily tend towards one side of the face and this is where the dominant eye is located.

If the dominance of the eye and hand do not match, the bow should still be selected according to eye dominance. The arms can be easily retrained for the new draw hand, but not the eye.

30 Jahre Garantie!
