Medieval rope cutter


Spread fork point according to the historical model. Hand-forged from high-quality carbon steel for medieval arrows. The cone in the point shaft fits exactly for the sharpened cones of conventional arrow sharpeners. The point complies with the AMO standard (Archery Manufacturers and Merchants Organization) and is ideal for 11/32 wood shafts.

Seilschneider?

Kleiner funfact: diese Spitze ist nach gängiger Nachforschung nicht zum schneiden von Seilen erdacht worden. Vielmehr handelt es sich um eine Spitze zum Jagen von Vögeln. Da diese ja wie bekannt sehr fragil sind, ist es nicht nötig, sie mit gewöhnlichen Jagdspitzen zu treffen. Ein leichter Streifschuss genügt. Da Pfeile für gewöhnlich rotieren, ist das durchschneiden eines Seils nicht besonders wahrscheinlich (dafür müsste die Spitze ja in einem bestimmten Winkel zum Seil sein, was beim Rotieren eher schwierig ist). Die größere Fläche (wenn der Pfeil rotiert, deckt die Spitze eine Fläche ab) ist also praktischer um etwas kleines, schnelles zu treffen.

Vogeljagd...

Die Bezeichnung des Artikels ist irreführend. Die Form der angebotenen Spitze wurde bereits von Saxton Pope als Jagdspitze für Vögel beschrieben.
