Description

ASTRA Shot Trainer - Training assistance

The Shot Trainer from ASTRA Archery is a technical training device that teaches you how to release the bowstring while maintaining the strength and direction of the shot. The arm cover is pulled over the shooting arm, while the adjustable strap is wrapped around the bowstring and attached to it. Once the bowstring is attached, releasing the bowstring transfers the force of the bow to the elbow of the draw arm, forcing the shooter to maintain force and direction without interruption.

The shot trainer is extremely effective in curing target panic, clicker panic and general fear of shooting. It does this by "rewiring" the electrical impulses of what the brain thinks is a strong shot. It is well known that first time shooters have strong and emotional reactions with the shot trainer. With enough practice, shots with and without a shot trainer can be perceived as almost identical!

The correct size and fit is necessary to achieve results and ensure product integrity. As a general rule of thumb, you should keep a distance of about 2.5 cm between the release fingers and the bowstring (see video below for more details). Most archers set the shooting trainer too long when they use it for the first time. It is better to set the shooting trainer too short than too long.
